Chobble Tickets vs Humanitix
Humanitix is a registered charity that donates its booking fee profits to education projects. This page compares it to Chobble Tickets on pricing, features and data handling.
Open source & cheaper Humanitix alternative
Chobble Tickets is a white label ticketing platform made in the UK. Its source code is published under the AGPL-3.0-only licence, so anyone can read it, fork it, or run their own copy. Humanitix does not publish its source code.
Humanitix charges 4.67% + £0.46 per paid ticket at the standard rate, or 3.33% + £0.25 for registered charities and schools, and donates its profits to education charities. Chobble Tickets charges £50/year or £5/month and is a community interest company, so profit cannot be paid out to shareholders.
Pricing comparison
Humanitix charges a percentage plus a fixed fee per paid ticket. There is no annual subscription. All plans include all features, and the platform donates 100% of its profits to charity.
The Standard rate is 4.67% + £0.46 per paid ticket (excl. VAT), which includes payment processing through Humanitix Payments or Stripe. Registered charities and schools pay a reduced rate of 3.33% + £0.25 per paid ticket. Free events cost nothing.
Chobble Tickets is a flat £50/year or £5/month, with no per-ticket platform fee. Community groups, charities, and schools pay £25/year. Payment processing goes through the organiser's own Stripe, Square, or SumUp account at the provider's normal rate.
Because Humanitix's fee is a percentage of the ticket price, it scales with both volume and price. On a £15 ticket at the Standard rate, the platform fee is around £1.16 per ticket. Sell 500 of those and the platform fee is around £580 for the year. Chobble Tickets costs £50 for the same volume.

|---|---|---|
| Annual fee | £50.00 | £0.00 |
| Platform fees | £0.00 | £0.00 |

"Your share" assumes the organiser pays the fees out of the ticket price. Where a platform lets the organiser add its fees on top, the buyer pays them and the organiser keeps more than the figure shown. These figures exclude VAT and cover paid tickets. Several platforms charge nothing for free tickets, and the notes below record that where it is published.
Humanitix Standard fees: 4.67% + £0.46 per paid ticket (excl. VAT, includes payment processing via Humanitix Payments or Stripe). Charities and schools pay 3.33% + £0.25. Free events are free. There is no annual subscription fee. Chobble Tickets: £50/year or £5/month flat (£25/year for community groups, charities and schools) + Stripe processing (1.5% + 20p). Charity structure
Both Chobble and Humanitix direct profits away from shareholders.
Humanitix is a registered charity. Its website states that 100% of profits go to education, healthcare and similar projects, and it had donated over £10.8 million as of July 2026. The donation is funded by the booking fees organisers pay.
Chobble Tickets is a Community Interest Company, a UK legal structure that locks the company's assets for community benefit. Profit cannot be extracted by shareholders. The difference is that Chobble's income comes from a flat annual hosting fee, not from a percentage of each ticket sold.

Chobble Tickets has features Humanitix doesn't
- Password-derived encryption - attendee data is encrypted with a key derived from your admin password using hybrid RSA-OAEP + AES-256-GCM. A database dump and the server's environment encryption key together are still not enough to decrypt attendee data, since an attacker would also need your password. If you forget it, the data is permanently unrecoverable
- Open source - the complete product source is published under AGPL-3.0-only with no proprietary feature tier. Humanitix is proprietary software
- Self-hosting option - run the platform on selected infrastructure without a Chobble software licence fee
- Flat pricing - £50/year or £5/month with no per-ticket platform fees, no matter how many you sell or what you charge
- Parent/child listings - require buyers to choose child listings (add-ons, options) when booking a parent event
- Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes
- attendees can add tickets to their phone wallet
- Subscribable ICS calendar feeds
- a single feed listing all events, so subscribers get automatic updates when new ones are added
- RSS feeds - syndicate events to feed readers
- Pay-what-you-want pricing - let attendees enter their own price above a minimum, with all of the extra going to the organiser
- Custom email providers - use Resend, Postmark, SendGrid, or Mailgun so emails come from your domain, not the platform's
- Liquid email templates - full control over confirmation emails with Liquid template syntax
- Admin API - authenticated API with API keys for full event CRUD and reading private data
- Public API - read-only public API for listing events and tickets
- Webhooks - outbound POST on every registration for custom integrations
- Promo codes, discounts, and add-ons create promo codes, discount codes, surcharges, and opt-in add-ons with stock limits and a live running total
- Custom questions with price-linked answers link answers to price changes for tiered pricing
- Daily and recurring events - per-date capacity with a calendar picker
- Custom domain included - pointing your own domain is part of the base price, with TLS handled for you
- Public-facing website and CMS a homepage, content pages, news posts, and a contact form with spam protection, all edited from the admin panel with Markdown. Write your own custom CSS for colours, fonts and spacing. Humanitix supplies customisable event pages and widgets that can sell tickets on an existing website
Data ownership
Humanitix stores attendee data on its servers. Like most hosted platforms, attendee details are readable by the platform. Humanitix also runs a discovery marketplace and makes personalised recommendations. Its privacy notice says direct marketing is sent only when an attendee explicitly opts in.
With Chobble Tickets, attendee data is encrypted at rest and stays under your control. The organiser holds the only private key that can decrypt it. Chobble Tickets does not run a discovery marketplace and does not market other events to your attendees.

Who owns Humanitix?
Humanitix was founded by Adam McCurdie and Josh Ross in Australia. It is a registered charity, not a for-profit company.
