For musicians, comedians, companies and makers

Sell your own dates, on your own site

Put your gigs, shows, workshops and open studios on sale through your own payment account. Artists and musicians pay £25 a year for managed hosting, and Chobble adds no fee to any ticket.

One site, every date you are selling

Each date is a listing with its own price and capacity, and duplicating one sets up the next town on a tour. Groups put a run, a season or a double bill on a single page, and a weekly residency or a course of classes can be one daily listing with capacity for each date.

The same setup covers bands and solo musicians, DJs, comedians, theatre companies, dance groups, poets and storytellers, and visual artists selling open studio slots.

Your public site can carry your own domain with Chobble branding removed, or the booking form can be embedded in the site you already have.

What the audience pays is what you set

Chobble Tickets adds no per-ticket platform fee, so a £12 ticket costs £12. Stripe, Square or SumUp pays the money into your own account, and Chobble never holds it or waits for a payout date.

For previews, work-in-progress and donation-based nights, pay-what-you-want pricing lets someone choose any amount above a minimum you set.

You can also sell things nobody attends. A purchasable listing takes payment for a record, a print or a zine without creating a door-entry workflow. Payments are one-off, so a year's membership is collected as a single payment rather than a recurring charge.

The people who booked are your contacts

Names, contact details and answers are encrypted in the database. Chobble does not email your audience, does not advertise other events to them and does not sell the list.

You can email everyone who booked a particular listing, everyone with a future booking, or everyone who has ever booked. A residency sold as one listing can be addressed one night at a time, chosen from that night on the attendee list. Messages go through your own provider account, and a message you mark as a promotion carries an unsubscribe link and skips anyone who has used one.

If you leave, you can download a full database backup and export your listings and prices as a file another Chobble Tickets host can import.

Features for performers

  • QR codes and check-in

Check people in at the door with a phone camera, or print a QR code for the poster that links to the booking page.

  • Promo codes and add-ons

Early-bird and concession prices with a stock limit, so a discount stops after a set number of orders.

  • Manual attendees

Add guest list places, comps and cash sales on the night from the admin panel.

  • Refunds

Refund one booking, or everyone booked on a date you have had to cancel.

  • Calendar and RSS feeds

Publish your dates as a calendar feed fans can subscribe to, and a feed that listings sites can read.

  • Open source

The software is published under the AGPL-3.0 licence, so you can read it, fork it or run your own copy.

What it does not do

Chobble Tickets does not run a marketplace or a listings directory. Nobody browsing Chobble will discover your show, and no algorithm decides who sees it, because there is nothing to browse. The audience arrives from your own site, your own mailing list and whatever the venue does.

A platform with a public discovery area may suit you better if you want to be found by its users. The Event Schedule comparison covers one that has one.

There is no workflow for a venue to submit a date to your calendar. You add your own dates.

The annual fee is the same whether you sell one ticket or a thousand, which means an artist playing two nights a year pays for hosting either way.
