What a school disco costs to sell

Take a disco with 150 tickets at £3 each, which raises £450. On the £25 annual rate, Chobble's charge stays at £25 however many events the PTA runs that year. Stripe's standard UK card fee of 1.5% + 20p comes to £36.75 if each ticket is bought separately, and less when parents buy several tickets in one order.

On Eventbrite's UK rate of 6.95% + £0.59 a ticket (checked 8 August 2026), the same 150 tickets carry about £120 in fees. Low ticket prices are where a fixed charge on every ticket costs most, because 59p is nearly a fifth of a £3 ticket.

Who runs Chobble Tickets

Chobble Tickets is run by Chobble CIC, a community interest company registered in England and based in Prestwich, Manchester. It has no shareholders, and its income comes from hosting and technical work rather than advertising or selling attendee data. The about page lists its company and data protection registrations.

Collect the details needed for each event

Custom questions can ask for a child’s class, allergy information or collection arrangements. The answers appear with the booking and in CSV exports.

Each event has its own price, capacity, sale window and terms. Parents can book for more than one child in one order, and office staff can add cash sales as manual attendees so the door list stays complete.

The same setup covers school discos, summer and Christmas fairs, nativity and concert tickets, quiz nights, uniform sales and trip payments.

Personal data is encrypted in the database. Chobble does not use attendee details to advertise other events.

Give the treasurer a complete money record

Card payments, refunds, booking balances and manual entries feed the double-entry ledger. Owners can record cash takings, bank transfers and event costs, then filter the ledger by date for the committee's report.

Purchasable listings handle raffle entries, donations, merchandise and trip contributions that do not need a door check. Chobble Tickets sells raffle entries but does not run the draw.

Owners control Money and bulk email. Editors can update event and website content without decrypting attendee details or seeing the Money area.
